Nature reasserts itself

Taking a walk along a forested stream without the possibility of coming face to face with a large carnivore was something people living in Nebraska during most of the last century took for granted. That peaceful walk was due in part to the elimination of those species from their traditional range in Nebraska by the beginning of the 20th century.

The Cougar Rewilding Foundation cannot accept sightings without confirming evidence.  We are waiting for evidence in the vicinity of York and Waco, which are in the eastern part of Nebraska west of Omaha.
